Monday evenings – HATHA YOGA18.00-19.00 – open level at Evolve Wellness Centre (10 Kendrick Mews, South Kensington, SW7)

In this Hatha yoga class, we exploreIMG_1568 playfully a combination of slow flow, creative movements, poses with pause, with conscious breathing and plenty of mindfulness. We all come with different bodies and degrees of flexibility, so variations will be given to suit all levels from beginners to more experienced practitioners. The class has a strong emphasis on energetic sequencing, postural alignment, stabilizing and strengthening. We work on a different theme every week, using techniques inspired from the Hatha Yoga, Tantra and Ayurveda Traditions.
Ultimately, the aim of Yoga is to bring your body to a place of stillness, well-being, and clarity of mind. So, the class is designed to help you release tension, build strength, stability, and connect to your quiet centre. You can expect to leave this class feeling rejuvenated and more inspired for the week ahead.

 

Monday eveningsYIN YOGA19.15-20.30 – open level  at  Evolve Wellness Centre (10 Kendrick Mews, South Kensington, SW7)

For thousands of years, Yoga and Chinese medicine CB_4426-Editahave postulated the belief that physical existence  is animated by a dynamic energy system. The meridians or nadis  are pathways through which the life-energy flows. This  primordial energy called Chi (in Chinese medicine)  or Prana (in the Yogic tradition)  is the vital force in all life. The practice of Yin Yoga helps dissolve blockages  and stimulate the energy flow through the meridians. It is a nurturing practice , designed to release deep seated tension.  In Yin Yoga, the asanas (postures) are held longer to affect the deeper layers of the body , cultivate spaciousness and ease  in the body and in the mind. You can expect to leave this class with a great sense of calm and space within you.

 

 Tuesday mornings – YIN YOGA – 11.00-12.00 – open to all levels (complete beginners welcome)   at  Basement Yoga Studio 13 Heath Street, Hampstead, London NW3 6TP

The practice of Yin Yoga helps release deep seated tensions, increase flexibility and stimulate the energy flow through the meridians. With its soft and effective approach, it helps cultivate a sense of spaciousness and ease in the body and in the mind. In Yin Yoga, the asanas (postures) are held for 2 minutes or more to affect the deeper layers of the body (connective tissues, muscles, joints and ligaments, etc). So, It is a great complementary practice for those who enjoy Yang activities such as running, cycling, martial arts etc.
You can expect to leave this class with a great sense of calm and space within you.
This is an all level class. Variations will be given to suit everyone from complete beginners to more experienced practitioners.

 

 Tuesday eveningsRESTORATIVE YOGA18.00-19.15 – open level  at  Evolve Wellness Centre (10 Kendrick Mews, South Kensington, SW7)

Restorative Yoga is a  slow-paced class suitable for all levels restorative-yoga-reiki-workshop(beginners welcome), to soothe the body and mind from stress and tension. Ideal for those of you who have a busy life and need to recharge their battery. The practice will include gentle restorative Asana,  mindful breathing and deep relaxation to help you connect to your quiet centre, build reservoirs of energy,  and feel nurtured from the inside. We will use props (blocks, bricks, belts, blankets and bolsters) to support the body and allow it to open safely. We will work on a different theme/focus every week.
Ultimately, the aim of Yoga is to bring your body to a place of stillness, well-being, and clarity of mind. So, you can expect to leave this class feeling rejuvenated and deep calm inside, ready to enjoy the rest of the week.

 

Thursday morningsRESTORATIVE YOGA11.00-12.00 – open to all levels (complete beginners welcome)   at  Basement Yoga Studio 13 Heath Street, Hampstead, London NW3 6TP

This class usually starts with some gentle movements to prepare the body and the mind for stillness and relaxation. It is then followed by restorative postures to soothe the body and mind from stress and tension. Ideal for those who have a busy life and need to recharge their battery.

When the body is reclined, supported and completely effortless, we start to release deep seated tensions and connect to our quiet centre, build reservoirs of energy, and feel nurtured from the inside.

Ultimately, the aim of Yoga is to bring your body to a place of stillness, well-being, and clarity of mind. So, you can expect to leave this class feeling rejuvenated and deeply calm inside. 

Variations will be given to suit everyone from complete beginners to more experienced practitioners.
